"We specialize in a variety of nuts and candies, and we place freshness and a helpful attitude right at the top of our priority list," says Rene Ryan , manager of the Lansing location.

"Greco Nut and Candy has been advertising with The Shopper for more than 20 years. We're a regular advertiser," she says. "They've been loyal to us and we've returned the favor."

"Yes, we get results from our ads and special offers, and depending on the season the response ranges from pretty good to so-so. But more importantly, we recognize that advertising needs to be consistent in order to produce long-term results."

Rene goes on say that her customers come from a fairly wide area. Some travel up to 10 miles to the store. "That level of customer loyalty speaks well for the products we sell and our friendly brand of service.

"With the holiday upon us, we expect to see our sales take a jump. They always do this time of year."

Greco Nut and Candy is a family owned business, just like The Shopper. They really don't survey their customers to find out how they heard about the store, but some customers willingly say that this is their first time shopping there.

When asked if she gets good service from her Shopper sales rep, she replied with a one-word answer, "Yes".
